Buster, a mixed breed Poodle-Chihuahua who is both blind and deaf, has been living with his human parents in Florida since he was a young puppy. While Buster had good vision for most of his life before developing glaucoma in both eyes, one of his eye balls became inflamed last year and the veterinarian thought it was better to remove it. Since then, he has entirely lost his ability to see out of his other eye, but it hasn’t stopped him from being the most loving and content dog.
Additionally, Buster has hearing and dental issues. His tongue frequently sticks out of his mouth.
Buster occasionally wears sunglasses as a means of protecting one of his eyes. According to his mother, Karen Rhea, he doesn’t always wear them, but she does when he leaves the house to shield his other eye.
The duo enjoys doing everything together, and Buster also has a brother named Biscuit, an eight-year-old dog who was adopted from a Florida shelter in 2011.
“Biscuit and Buster make a great pair and are close friends. They share a neighboring bed.”
