The Catholic Church’s beloved patron saint of animals, Francis of Assisi, would surely be pleased to hear that a charming little dog has been welcomed into the Franciscan monastery in Cochabamba, Bolivia. The adorable schnauzer pup is now one of their smallest Friars and undoubtedly the most endearing one as well.
Meet Friar Bigotón, a furry friend who goes by a more unique name than his given one, Carmelo. This little pup has an important position at the monastery and even sports a tiny Franciscan habit to match. Originally a stray, Friar Bigotón was adopted into his new home, where he is now cherished and adored by all. Under the care of the Franciscans, this special dog has found nothing but love.
According to Jorge Fernandez, a fellow friar, Kasper Mariusz KaproÅ„ OFM, or Friar Bigoton, is a playful and active creature. “His daily routine revolves around running and playing, but he also has other essential duties,” Fernandez stated. He is entrusted with guarding the Koi ponds, being a companion to everyone, bringing warmth to hearts and laps, and spreading joy with his infectious smile. The brothers love him deeply, and they recognize him as one of God’s creatures.
On Facebook, Franciscan monk Kasper Mariusz Kaproń shared some cute photos of himself preaching to fishes. However, Brother Carmelo, as he is also known, has a bigger mission. He is currently helping other dogs find their forever homes, just like he did. This furry friend is definitely paying it forward in the most charming way possible.
Carmelo, the adorable canine, found his forever home at a monastery thanks to Proyecto Narices Frias (Cold Nose Project), an animal rescue group. The rescuers hope that Carmelo’s beautiful story will inspire other monasteries to follow suit and welcome pets in need with open arms. In a Facebook post, the Cold Nose Project stated that if all the churches in the country adopt and care for dogs like Friar Bigotón, they are certain that the congregation will follow their lead. It’s heartening to see animals finding loving homes and being cared for by compassionate individuals and organizations.
Let us tell you about Kasper Mariusz KaproÅ„ OFM and his heartwarming story. Not only is it a reminder of the countless pets that are waiting for their forever homes, but also a testament to the power of compassion and kindness. Let’s spread this message further by sharing it with everyone we know!
