Fred, a Labrador, has captured the hearts of many online as he assumed the role of a single dad to nine ducklings who were left without a mother.
Introducing Fred, a much-loved resident of Mountfitchet Castle located in Essex, England. Fred’s life has been full of interactions with various animals such as goats, chickens, peacocks, and ducks. The castle’s staff discovered a group of ducklings without their mother and suspected that she had been hunted by a nearby wolf. Upon seeing the helpless babies, Fred felt an instant connection and decided to take them under his wing and become their adoptive dad. Despite his age of 10 years old, which is considered elderly for dogs, Fred has proven to be a fantastic and proud father to his new feathered family.
Fred’s adorable ducklings loved to spend quality time with him. They relished sharing meals and cuddling up next to him, and occasionally even took a seat on his head. Their favorite activity, however, was hitching a ride on their father’s back, which allowed them to enjoy a breathtaking view of the surroundings.
