Mam Nata, a dog who was around 8 weeks pregnant, was discovered outside of IAPA on the night of Christmas Eve. She was in a weakened state and unable to stand on her own. When she was discovered, she was quite scared and it took a while for her to be soothed. Her owner abandoned her because she was afraid of the upcoming puppies.
Upon initial interaction with the shelter volunteers, Natijali was very wary and protective of her maternal instincts, expending all her energy to keep them at bay. However, as time went on, she gradually let her guard down and became more amenable. One volunteer observed that there might be upwards of 13 or 14 babies within her belly, and it was deemed necessary to schedule an ultrasound for the following day due to her weakened state. The volunteers prepared for a long night ahead, hoping to ensure everything was in order for Natijali’s delivery. With the aid required, Natijali was able to deliver successfully, with the first baby being a bright young boy. The volunteers counted a total of 14 puppies, all of which were adorable.
